The BowerSchool of Music invites applicants who can contribute a uniqueperspective to the musictheory area and provide excellent teaching that fosters andpromotes theory andmusicianship skills relevant to the needs of twenty-first centurymusicians.The successful candidate will be expected to teach the coreundergraduate music theoryand aural skills curriculum; teach courses aligned with theirarea(s) of research/creativespecialty; have a strong commitment to pedagogy and a willingnessto contribute toongoing curricular dialogue at the course and program level; pursueand maintain a highlevel of scholarly research and creative activity (including, butnot limited to, presentation,publication, and performance); engage in service opportunities tothe University andcommunity; participate in program and departmental meetings.Candidates who canprovide meaningful contributions to other academic areas (e.g.Music Education, MusicPerformance, or Music Therapy) as required by the curriculum orassigned by the Directorare strongly encouraged to apply. Must valuecontinued scholarship and service to the school and university.Ability to contribute effectively and collegially to a positive,dynamic, and inclusive learning environment that nurtures studentcreativity.
